Welcome to Hospitality the Little Traverse Way

Travelers have been coming to the Little Traverse Bay Area of northern Lower Michigan for more than 100-years.  When those guests arrived so many years ago, they were treated to world-class service that was unique for that time.

Service with a SmileHospitality the Little Traverse Way was created to assure that those of us in the area never lose that hospitality “touch.” The program serves the communities of Petoskey, Bay Harbor, Boyne City, Boyne Falls and Harbor Springs and is offered in three parts:

  1. Staff Training while reinforcing the community’s hospitality culture
  2. Recognizing those businesses who regularly exceed their guests expectations. 
  3. Engaging area residents in the practice of welcoming and assisting our guests.

The Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce spearheaded this initiative in 2012 and brought together ten other partners who all contributed financial resources, countless volunteer hours, and tremendous expertise. Click here to view our partners.

Much of the educational curriculum for Hospitality the Little Traverse Way was developed by Bill Quiseng of Bill Quiseng / Deliver the World’s Best Customer Experience. Bill is a proven leader in the hospitality industry and a highly respected presenter of hospitality training programs. He is currently exceeding his guests' expectations at Marriott’s Ko Olina Beach Club in Oahu, Hawaii.

Mystery Shop Program

  

The mystery shop program is a way for the businesses to measure the effectiveness of Hospitality the Little Traverse Way training, recognize team members, and address potential opportunities. 

 

 

 

Derik Mott-Bragg, Business Consultant and Owner of Mottify Consulting Group, LLC, is a sixteen year veteran in the Sales and Marketing industry. Derik spent five years leading a successful sales team for a Fortune 15 Company and the last three years inspiring local business owners to challenge the status quo. Derik believes all things are possible through vision and action.
